Micro:
Mother Nature

This trend encapsulates products and aesthetics that seem to have been dug out of the earth or caught from the deepest depths of the ocean. As our planet adapts to its ever changing environment, expect to see fashion morphing into the evolving terrain around it. There will be more exploration into textures of unique plant material such as moss & seaweed that have a grunge aesthetic.

I like this idea of something in nature that looks fake but is real

Jonathan Anderson - Loewe Creative Director

Textiles &Silhouettes

Concept:

Imaginative patterns that are anchored in nature. The materials used are not necessarily biodegradable, however they are biophyllic and have a lower impact on the the environment through use of natural resources for example beLEAF™ and Lineapelle (Skliarova, 2023).

Silhouettes:

Silhouettes will reflect shapes you will find in nature, whether it be a cactus shaped bag or an anthurium inspired top as designed by Jonathan Anderson for Loewe (Madsen, 2022). With such direct links to nature this micro trend ties into sustainability by visually reminding consumers of the beautiful elements of nature. The naturalistic pieces will interpret plant prints and be the focal point of an outfit.

Textiles & Textures:

Textile patterns will be very intricate and detailed as they reflect delicate structures such as lichen found on woodland trees. Some textiles will be rooted in nature, resembling twisted foliage. For example textile artist Jasmine Linington is exploring the use of seaweed within fashion.

Colour Palette

The key colours of this micro trend are genderless and ageless which fits the idea that Mother Nature is for everyone to enjoy. These organic tones reflect the growing understanding and respect for the ecosystem and the prehistoric existence that surrounds us, from the deepest forests to the vastest deserts.

Key colours sourced from Pantone and the Première Vision Paris Trade Show SS24.
